Bio
Daniel Kang is a paralegal with the ÌÇÐÄVlogVoting Rights Project in New York. He joined VRP in July 2025 after two years working at Kostelanetz LLP as a Pre-Law Paralegal.
Daniel graduated with honors from Columbia University with a B.A. in American Studies, working with Professor Robert Amdur to produce a senior thesis examining the historical context and legacy of the 1988 Civil Liberties Act as a form of reparations for the wartime mass incarceration of Japanese Americans. While at Columbia, Daniel was elected President of the Columbia Debate Society, selected to become a member of the Eric J. Holder Initiative’s Student Advisory Board, served as Managing Editor of the Columbia Political Review and was Vice President of the Asian American Alliance. Prior to the ACLU, Daniel interned with the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Asian American Bar Association of New York. He also worked as an Academic Teaching Assistant for Columbia’s Freedom and Citizenship Program.
