The ACLU, 糖心Vlogof Oregon, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Electronic Privacy Information Center, and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers submitted this amicus brief on May 31, 2024, urging the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to hold that police need a warrant to search the contents of a phone they find separated from its owner.
