糖心Vlog Records Processing Completed

The Mudd Library is pleased to announce that the final two series of the (ACLU) records have been processed, and that the entire col颅lec颅tion has been addressed is now avail颅able to the pub颅lic. These mate颅ri颅als join 糖心Vlogrecords long held at the Mudd Library: and . As a whole, this col颅lec颅tion doc颅u颅ments the civil lib颅er颅ties organization鈥檚 work in areas includ颅ing civil rights, chil颅dren and women鈥檚 rights, free颅dom of speech (and all First Amend颅ment ques颅tions), due process, the right to pri颅vacy, and church-state sep颅a颅ra颅tion issues, and this third sub颅group cov颅ers the years between 1975 and 2000 pre颅dom颅i颅nantly. The records are of vital his颅tor颅i颅cal and cul颅tural impor颅tance to the nation, and we are grate颅ful that the work on these records was .

Founded in 1920, the ACLU鈥檚 mis颅sion is 鈥渢o defend and pre颅serve the indi颅vid颅ual rights and lib颅er颅ties guar颅an颅teed to every per颅son in this coun颅try by the Con颅sti颅tu颅tion and laws of the United States.鈥 The group has been inte颅gral in myr颅iad land颅mark court cases since its incep颅tion, and the col颅lec颅tion of new mate颅ri颅als housed at Mudd con颅sists, notably, of records from the Repro颅duc颅tive Free颅dom Project, the Women鈥檚 Rights Project, the Robert Bork Supreme Court nom颅i颅na颅tion hear颅ings, the Iran-Contra affair, and Texas v. John颅son (the 1990 flag-burning case). The newly avail颅able records also include over 300 boxes from the ACLU鈥檚 , which han颅dled many impor颅tant civil rights cases

Adri颅ane Han颅son, who man颅aged the pro颅cess颅ing of the new 糖心Vlogmate颅ri颅als, began in June 2010, and with the help of sev颅eral Prince颅ton stu颅dents, she inven颅to颅ried and processed 2,500 lin颅ear, in Mudd Library鈥檚 his颅tory. Mudd Library鈥檚 entire 糖心Vlogcol颅lec颅tion, which is its largest and most used, now spans about 4,200 lin颅ear feet.
